What kind of projects does Base Botanics undertake?

We specialise in gardens and wildlife zones in the wider landscape. Whether you’re looking for a formal garden, garden reclaiming, a wildlife pond, wildflower meadow or a new design, we are willing to consider any type of project.

We can start with a blank canvas and create your ideal space, or we can convert your current outdoor space into your ideal area. Over the last 20 years, we have worked on a huge variety of projects, so whatever you're thinking of creating, we're confident that our team can bring it to life.

How do I make the most of my outdoor space?

You need to think about what you want to get out of your space - relaxation, involvement, a full sized football pitch, a family area, something that's beautiful to look at, a wildlife haven and so on.

Through clever use of design that considers the aspect and natural features of the garden, we can make sure you get the most rewarding result for your space.

Do you include garden lighting in your plans?

Yes, we do. Lighting brings a whole new dimension to the garden and extends the life of your garden as the day turns into night, or as the lighting changes through the seasons. Thoughtful lighting can highlight shapes and features revealing a new perspective in the evening.  We often include a lighting plan with the design because we believe that gardens are not just for the daytime, they are for the evenings too.

Can you do the whole job or will we need to use other contractors too?

We have a vast range of skills within the team. If we need to bring in extra skills, we have a trustworthy network of specialists that we work with. We pride ourselves on the quality of our work, so we only work with contractors who we trust and who work to high standards.

How long will the work take?

This depends on the size of the job and what's involved, so we can discuss this during the planning stage.

How much will it cost?

When we discuss design, we will also talk about your budget. Gardens add value to houses so it is worth investing in the details.

The cost is influenced by the type and quantity of plants required, the specification of any architectural materials, the labour and any additional costs associated with machinery or technical work.

What about site access?

If access to the site is restricted, we will look at the best options. We are happy to speak to your neighbours to explain any levels of disruption or any options to improve access.

How do we maintain the garden?

This is a common question because this is something that concerns clients. They worry that they don't have the relevant skills for the aftercare, or, quite simply, they just want to relax in the garden and not spend time mowing, weeding or pruning.

The good news is that we can provide a full maintenance service and we can look after the garden for you. Our intention is that you enjoy your space and that your investment is a pleasure.

Are you fully insured?

Yes. We are full insured with comprehensive public liability insurance.
